Engineered timber offers a cost effective and sustainable alternative to steel or concrete beams, providing enhanced strength that is ideal for larger roof/floor spans. We supply Glulam (Glue Laminated Timber) and Versalam beams.
Aesthetic benefits
Glulam timber is sourced from sustainable forests in Scandinavia. Unlike steel, it doesn’t require cladding and it offers a lighter weight solution that is suitable for use across a wide range of applications - from sports halls to bridges. Glulam can be used to create attractive feature beams that minimise the visibility of wood’s natural imperfections.
High strength solutions
Versalam beams are generally selected for their strength. Manufactured by bonding laminated pine veneers with waterproof structural adhesives, they offer one of the strongest engineered wood products available today.
Versalam is stronger than Glulam, but the size range is limited, and Versalam products are not designed for exposure within a finished building design.
